Heritage hogs are breeds of pigs that have been around a long time. Their lines and breeding have stayed consistent without being bred specifically to fit into the industrial farming system. At Four Sisters Farm we raise Red Wattle hogs. Known for excellent foraging ability on a pasture-based system, juicy and well-marbled meat that is, overall, a leaner option than many other breeds of pig.
We are excited to be offering heritage hogs sold as halves or wholes.
This means you can fill your freezer by committing to either a whole or half hog! You will pay a partial payment upon purchasing and the remainder will be paid at $6.50/lb hanging weight at time of processing.
Partial Payments:
$200 for half
$400 for whole
Final pricing is based on the hanging weight of the hog.
Whole Hog: 200 pounds X $6.50/lb = $1,320
Half Hog: 100 pounds X $6.50/lb = $660
Please keep in mind, these numbers are approximations. Actual numbers will vary based on individual hogs.
Your hog will be processed at Swanks Meat Market in St. Croix Falls. Once you have reserved your hog you will have the opportunity to fill out the cut sheet for your animal. About three weeks after your hog gets dropped off, your pork will be ready for pick up. At this point, you will pay the processing fees related to your desired proces
